/fill Command Generator
BetaEnter two corners, pick a block and a mode, and watch the box resize as you type. The generator counts the blocks and splits boxes that are too big into several commands.

Raw editor
How it works
/fill sets every block in the box between two corners. Both corners are included, so ~-3 ~ ~-3 to ~3 ~4 ~3 is 7 × 5 × 7 = 245 blocks.
Java 1.13 to 1.21.4
fill ~-3 ~ ~-3 ~3 ~4 ~3 minecraft:stone_bricks hollow fill ~-8 ~-2 ~-8 ~8 ~2 ~8 minecraft:grass_block replace minecraft:dirt
Java 1.21.5 and later
A filter can now be combined with another mode, and there is a strict mode that skips block updates:
fill ~-3 ~ ~-3 ~3 ~4 ~3 minecraft:glass replace minecraft:stone hollow
Bedrock
Block states are a separate argument, and the filter block can have its own states:
fill ~-3 ~ ~-3 ~3 ~4 ~3 stone_bricks hollow fill ~-5 ~-1 ~-5 ~5 ~1 ~5 air replace stone ["stone_type"="granite"]
The 32,768-block limit
A single /fill can change at most 32,768 blocks. On Java 1.19.4 and later that number is the commandModificationBlockLimit game rule (called max_block_modifications from 1.21.11), so you can raise it. On older Java and on Bedrock it is fixed. When your box is bigger, the generator slices it into layers that each fit and gives you one command per slice. Hollow and outline boxes are not split, because each slice would get its own walls.
Modes
hollow builds the outer shell and fills the inside with air. outline builds the same shell but leaves the inside alone. keep only fills air, destroy drops the old blocks as items.
FAQ
What is the maximum number of blocks /fill can change?
32,768 by default. On Java 1.19.4 and later you can raise it with /gamerule commandModificationBlockLimit (max_block_modifications from 1.21.11). On Bedrock the limit is fixed, so split the area into several commands; the generator does that for you.
How do I make a hollow box?
Choose the hollow mode. The walls, floor and ceiling are built and the inside becomes air. Use outline instead if you want the walls but want to keep what is inside.
How do I replace only one type of block?
Add a block under Only replace one block. The command becomes fill <from> <to> <new block> replace <old block>, and everything else in the box stays as it is.
How do I clear an area with /fill?
Fill it with air. Use destroy instead of replace if you want the blocks to drop as items.
Why does /fill say too many blocks in the specified area?
The box is over the limit. Count the size on each axis including both corners (0 to 9 is 10 blocks), multiply them, and keep it at 32,768 or less, or let the generator split it.
