Armor Stand Generator

Beta

Pose an armor stand head to toe, watch it move in a 3D preview you can spin around, and copy a /summon command written for your version. Pick a starting pose or let the AI pose it from a description.

Describe it — AI writes the command

Type what you want in plain words. The AI fills the form below, so you can see it and change anything. It follows the edition and version you picked.

How it works

Every part of a Java armor stand (head, body, both arms and both legs) turns on three axes, stored in degrees in its Pose tag. X tilts a part forward and back, Y turns it, Z swings it out to the side. The generator only writes the parts you moved away from the default pose, which keeps the command short.

Java 1.13 to 1.20.4

summon minecraft:armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {CustomName:'{"text":"Knight"}',ShowArms:1b,NoBasePlate:1b,Pose:{RightArm:[-110f,50f,0f]},HandItems:[{id:"minecraft:diamond_sword",Count:1b},{}]}

Java 1.20.5 to 1.21.4

Item counts became a lowercase count number:

summon minecraft:armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {CustomName:'{"text":"Knight"}',ShowArms:1b,NoBasePlate:1b,Pose:{RightArm:[-110f,50f,0f]},HandItems:[{id:"minecraft:diamond_sword",count:1},{}]}

Java 1.21.5 and later (26.x too)

Names are written as SNBT instead of a JSON string, and HandItems/ArmorItems were replaced by one equipment compound with named slots:

summon minecraft:armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {CustomName:{text:"Knight"},ShowArms:1b,NoBasePlate:1b,Pose:{RightArm:[-110f,50f,0f]},equipment:{mainhand:{id:"minecraft:diamond_sword",count:1}}}

Bedrock

Bedrock armor stands have no NBT, so /summon can only name the stand and, from 1.19.70, turn it. The generator adds /replaceitem lines for armour and held items. Poses can’t be set by command: Bedrock stands switch between 13 fixed poses when you sneak and use them, or when they get a redstone signal. Pick one of those poses in the generator and it tells you which signal strength gives it.

summon armor_stand "Knight" ~ ~ ~
replaceitem entity @e[type=armor_stand,name="Knight",c=1] slot.weapon.mainhand 0 diamond_sword

The flags

Java stands have no arms unless ShowArms is set. Small halves the size, NoBasePlate removes the stone slab, Invisible hides the stand but not its armour or items, and Marker removes the hitbox so it can’t be hit or used. DisabledSlots:4144959 stops players from taking, adding or swapping its items.

FAQ

How do I summon an armor stand with arms?

On Java, add ShowArms:1b: summon minecraft:armor_stand ~ ~ ~ {ShowArms:1b}. Tick Show arms in the generator. Bedrock armor stands always have arms.

What do the X, Y and Z pose angles do?

X tilts a part forward or back (a negative X raises an arm in front of the stand), Y turns it left or right, and Z swings it out to the side. Values are degrees, and the preview moves as you drag the sliders.

Can I pose an armor stand with a command on Bedrock?

No. Bedrock has no Pose data in commands. Sneak and use the stand to cycle through its 13 poses, or power it with redstone: signal strength 3 gives the Solemn pose, 5 Brandish, 10 Zombie, and 13 or more Hero.

How do I make an invisible armor stand that still shows its armour?

Add Invisible:1b on Java. The stand disappears but its armour and held items stay visible, which is the usual trick for floating items and statues. Add Marker:1b too if players should not be able to hit it.

Why does my old armor stand command fail in 1.21.5?

1.21.5 replaced HandItems and ArmorItems with an equipment compound and changed names from JSON strings to SNBT. Commands made for 1.20 load without their items or name. Pick your version in the generator and copy it again.

How do I stop players taking the armour off?

Tick Lock its items. It writes DisabledSlots:4144959, which blocks adding, removing and swapping items in every slot. Invulnerable stops it from being broken.
